The Roberts History
Established in 1921, The Roberts Hotel has been a Muncie landmark for nearly a century. As Muncie's most elegant and gracious hotel, The Roberts hosted five United States presidents as well as numerous dignitaries
and stage and screen stars.
The historic building, recognized as a finely crafted example of the Georgian Revival architectural style, features a classic red brick exterior with ornamental details crafted from Indiana limestone. Inside is a wealth of ornate plasterwork including Corinthian pilasters and a festooned frieze, as well as a two-story lobby flooded with natural light from nine skylights.
With its 2009 conversion to luxury apartments, The Roberts will preserve the charm and beauty of the building’s exterior and common areas while adding newly constructed studio, 2, 3 and 4 bedroom luxury suites to the upper floors. As an upscale urban residence, The Roberts will continue to be a fixture in Muncie’s historic downtown business district.
